Time flies when you´re having fun! It has been 3 years since we started our Azure consultancy company, Mallow – and it feels like yesterday.
When the opportunity rose to start the company, one of the principal guidelines was to define a clear focus for what we would do. Choosing the technology was rather easy – our co-founders Teemu and Jani also with Microsoft history helped us to agree that focusing on one technology instead of many would allow our team to truly concentrate on building the best possible capabilities to support our customers. Our team loves this, as you have a tight team of colleagues who all work on the same domain. You always have your buddy to watch your back!
To start from the scratch meant starting with a “man and a van” approach. During the covid-19 pandemic, we didn’t have an office, and people rarely had in-person meetings with customers. Getting the first customer and convincing the next few felt out of this world. We were truly grateful for those first customers to have the trust in our capability and take the risk to start working with a company with zero references!
We have nurtured and grown that trust, and nowadays we serve dozens of clients of various sizes from different industries: big enterprise customers, public sector, and inspiring growth companies. Our relationships have grown to be long-lasting, and we are proud to showcase our experiences in our customer stories, with new references coming as we speak. There is no better way to prove our passion for customer service than to hear it from the customers themselves. We are grateful to everyone who participated in the creation of the stories.
Building our team at Mallow is what I am most proud of. Our aim of enabling professional growth and allowing people to feel like being part of joint venture, makes everybody feel on-board. Getting things done, always figuring out agile ways of working and supporting your colleagues, that’s what makes Mallowians go forward. Our versatile, highly experienced team gets together weekly at the office, and monthly outside office hours. We are always looking forward welcoming new members to enrich the team!
The van-life has evolved to our Mallow office in Helsinki. Our penthouse office is built to serve as a place where one can work in peace, meet with customers and partners, or to hang-out with colleagues. At times when a large portion of work is done online, we believe that there is a purpose for having a place to meet-up, or go-to-work, depending on what one craves.
So, what comes next? We want to maintain our promise to our employees to keep Mallow as the place for professional growth, but most importantly a place where you enjoy your work. And from the growth perspective, we will continue to grow by + 50% annually to make sure we are there to help our customers in years to come as the best Azure consultancy company in Finland!
